剧情简介
作为一家之主的亨利.达什伍德逝世后，其遗产由他与前妻所生儿子约翰继承，他现在的妻子和三个女儿，埃莉诺、玛丽安娜以及玛格丽特被迫搬迁并变得一贫如洗。约翰的妻弟爱德华的出现打动了埃莉诺的芳心，但这段姻缘却受到势利眼的芬妮的百般阻挠，因为她想让弟弟娶一个门当户对的富家女；玛丽安娜在雨夜中扭伤脚踝，被威勒比所救，玛丽安娜不顾一切地爱上他，却忽略了布兰登上校那诚挚的爱；小妹妹玛格丽特天真无邪但却知道好歹，默默地为大家着想。英国小说家1795年用笔讲过的故事，两百年后的今天由一位华人导演在银幕上重新演绎了一番。
