中文摘要： 本文共分六个部分，计九节。其中“一”是前言，为第一部分，交代联绵词的定义，既往对先秦联绵词及上古声调的研究成果，以及本文的研究目的。“二”至“五”是第二部分，以中古声调为上溯的基础，讨论先秦时代联绵词的声调构成情况，结论是：根据中古声调来看先秦联绵词，其两音节往往同调；尤其是具有叠韵关系的联绵词，两音节之间几乎完全同调。“六”是第三部分，论证先秦出现的联绵词，其两音节之间常常同调的现象，并非中古的突发现象，而是承自上古。“七”是第四部分，在前面分析的基础上，根据声韵调相结合的原则，把先秦联绵词分为七类。“八”是第五部分，根据联绵词在上古往往同调的规律，讨论上古汉语的声调。“九”是第六部分，为简短的结论。

英文摘要： Doublets(联绵词) here are Chinese words consisting of two characters, often alliterated or rhymed (as 徘徊，逍遥，滂沱). The characteristics of tones in Doublets in Pre-Qin Dynasty have not been studied so far. The present paper, on the basis of a vast amount of data of Doublets in Pre-Qin Dynasty, advances a study on the tones in Doublets.
The proceeding main body of the paper is divided into six part. Part One is the introduction which includes a definition of Doublets, a brief history of the study of Doublets and tones in Pre-Qin Dynasty, and the purpose of the present paper.
Part Two consists of four sections (from Section Two to Section Five). This part, on the basis of the four tones of Middle Chinese phonetics, investigates and studies the tone-formation of Doublets in The Book of Songs, The Collection of Poems in Chu, and all the others in Pre-Qin Dynasty in their given order; and examines the issue from various angles such as the notation by our predecessors, etymological Doublets, pictophonetic characters, and unusual pronunciations. The conclusion is that: according to the four tones of Middle Chinese phonetics, two characters in Doublets in Pre-Qin Dynasty were often co-tone; especially, the rhymed Doublets were nearly all co-tone.
Part Three only consists of Section Six. In accordance with the preceding part, This part further proves that: in Pre-Qin Dynasty, two characters in Doublets were co-tone, and the co-tone phenomena in Middle Chinese was only an inheritance of the co-tone phenomena in Pre-Qin Dynasty.
Part Four again consists only of the seventh section. In this Part, according to the preceding study, I divide Doublets in Pre-Qin Dynasty into seven types: (1)both alliterated and rhymed, also co-tone; (2) alliterated, also co-tone; (3) alliterated, but not co-tone; (4) rhymed, also co-tone; (5)rhymed, but not-co-tone; (6) not alliterated and rhymed, but co-tone; (7) not alliterated and rhymed, not co-tone.
Part Five includes the eighth section. Now that I have proved the co-tone phenomena in Doublets occurred in Pre-Qin Dynasty, I should take further steps to study the tone system in Pre-Qin Dynasty. The conclusion is that: the four tones of Middle Chinese phonetics can be dated back to the tone system of Pre-Qin Dynasty; in Pre-Qin Dynasty, the entering tone were of two types, the long entering tone and the short entering tone; and later the long entering tone became the departing tone and the short entering tone became the entering tone.
The last part is short concluding remark.
